The Indian Mathematics and Science Association organizes a variety of academic activities in the field of mathematics and sciences to enhance conceptual understanding, foster curiosity, and develop critical thinking and scientific temper among students.

Objectives of the Academic Programme

The primary goal of the programme is to:

  • Support educationally deprived classes by providing opportunities to promote excellence in mathematics and science.
  • Highlight the lives and accomplishments of distinguished mathematicians and scientists to inspire students.
  • Inspire students to engage in research, innovation, and real-world problem-solving.
  • Encourage students to explore and pursue careers in the fields of science and mathematics.
  • Involve communities in scientific discussions and activities to spread awareness.
  • Conduct faculty development programmes (FDP) for teachers to achieve professional competence and educational excellence.
  • Ignite and nurture interest in mathematics and science among students through Olympiads, certifications, and handholding programmes.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to improve understanding and performance.
  • Encourage rational thinking, experimentation, and evidence-based learning.
  • Ensure access to resources such as technology, libraries, laboratories, and textbooks.
  • Identify and address conceptual gaps using innovative teaching methods.

The Talent Search Test in Mathematics and Science (TSTMS) are competitive examinations designed to identify and nurture young talent in the fields of mathematics and science. These activities inspire students to pursue careers in mathematics and science, leading them on an exciting intellectual journey.

The Talent Search Test in Mathematics and Science (TSTMS) is categorized as follows:

  • 1. Junior Talent Search Test in Mathematics (JTSTM) – Classes 6 to 12
  • 2. Senior Talent Search Test in Mathematics (STSTM) – B.Sc. and M.Sc. students in Mathematics and related fields
  • 3. Junior Talent Search Test in Science (JTSTS) – Classes 6 to 12
  • 4. Senior Talent Search Test in Science (STSTS) – B.Sc. and M.Sc. students in Physics, Chemistry, Biology, or related fields

II. Objectives

The main objective of TSTMS is to identify hidden talent and motivate students toward rational thinking from an early age. IMSA nurtures talented students, honors them with awards, and conducts training programs led by subject experts.
